I grew up watching Al-Arham Trading — my family's perfume and attar business in Tamil Nadu — juggle a paper ledger, a Shopify subscription, a Shiprocket panel, a WhatsApp group, a Tally desktop and a shipping-fee calculator taped to the wall. Every one of those tools charged us a fee. Not one of them talked to the next.
I built simplestores because I couldn't find a single tool that treated an Indian shopkeeper like a first-class user — one login, our own domain, UPI + COD out of the box, GST invoicing that Tally accepts, and shipping labels that print at 2 AM without a call to support.
Today we're a small founder-led team out of Pollachi, TN — building the platform, running the demos ourselves, answering every WhatsApp DM personally. Zero VC pressure, zero commissions, zero exit clocks.
