Find your perfect fit — measurements, conversion charts and tips.
Choosing the right size is crucial for furniture and décor. For sofas and seating, measure your room space first: standard 2-seater sofas are typically 60-72 inches wide, 3-seaters 72-84 inches, and sectionals vary from 90-140 inches. Leave at least 30 inches of walking space around furniture. Coffee tables should be about two-thirds the length of your sofa and 16-18 inches from the sofa edge. Dining tables: for 4 people, opt for 36x48 inches; for 6 people, 36x72 inches; for 8 people, 36x96 inches minimum. Ensure 36-42 inches of space around the table for comfortable seating. Bedroom furniture: king beds are 72x72 inches, queen beds 60x75 inches, and double beds 54x72 inches. Leave 24-30 inches on each side for easy movement. Bedside tables should be the same height as your mattress top. Lighting: pendant lights should hang 30-36 inches above dining tables, and chandeliers should be hung with at least 7 feet clearance from the floor. Table lamps should be 58-64 inches from the floor when placed on side tables. Wall décor: hang artwork at eye level (57-60 inches from floor to center). For large walls, use pieces that cover 60-75% of the wall width. Rugs: in living rooms, all furniture legs should sit on the rug, or at least the front legs. Dining room rugs should extend 24-30 inches beyond the table on all sides. Detailed dimensions are provided on each product page.
